Wetter trend continues...

You can see the sea breeze front already developing this morning on satellite and a few showers are bubbling up along it. It should progress inland with another scattering of showers and thunderstorms late this morning through mid afternoon. Things should again settle this evening for most locations from Houston through south LA, but we will have to watch thunderstorms forming along a weak front north of Acadiana this evening and tonight. That activity will be pushing southward, and if it maintains some intensity, it could impact Acadiana late.
Deeper Gulf moisture spreads in tomorrow and we could see a couple waves of showers and thunderstorms through the morning and afternoon. I don't anticipate any significant flooding issues over the Greater Houston area, but typical ponding of water on roadways will occur. That weak front interacting with the increased moisture over LA will lead to a better risk of heavier rain and a couple isolated spots could get a quick 2-4 inches of rain. Most areas will see less than 2 inches.
Moisture levels will start trending downward Friday, but a good scattering of late morning/afternoon showers and thunderstorms is still expected. Coverage will not be as much as we should see tomorrow. The rain coverage/chances trend will continue this weekend, but a few isolated to widely scattered showers and storms will be possible. Temperatures will trend upwards as well Friday and through the weekend, but we aren't expecting heat like we saw last week. Still, temperatures will be above normal for the weekend with heat index values peaking in the 102-107F range during the afternoon hours.
