Wet pattern settling in...

Not too much going on this morning, but with some daytime heating they'll be widely scattered showers and thunderstorms late this morning through this afternoon inland over much of TX and LA. It should be pretty typical shower and thunderstorm activity with the heavier storms dropping a quick inch to inch an a half of rain. Most areas will see less than that, and can't rule out an isolated location getting over 2 inches.
Things get more interesting tomorrow, especially over SE TX. A slow moving disturbance will lift northward out of S TX and will spark a cluster or two of showers and storms over the Mid TX coast Tuesday morning. This activity will gradually spread north and northeast through Tuesday afternoon. Its a little tough to tell exactly where it will track, but it will produce 1-2 inches of rain and locally up to 3-5 inches where the heavier embedded storms develop.
Farther east, S LA will see another afternoon of scattered showers and thunderstorms Tuesday. The system that will effect SE TX could drift into Acadiana late in the day Tuesday or Tuesday night which could bring the threat of locally heavy rainfall. With it being a small disturbance and it moving out of Mexico and S TX, its hard to have much confidence in the timing and location at this point.
Looking at the rest of the forecast, unsettled and wet conditions are expected through Thursday. Friday and next weekend look a little drier, but it looks very stormy again next week. Don't count on 0% rain chances anytime soon.
