Looks like Houston, and now this morning, Acadiana won the rain lottery. It wasn't a lot of rain over Houston, especially south of I-10, but there was some briefly gusty winds. Southern I-49 to I-10 corridor in Louisiana just got a nice soaking along with some gusty winds.
Some rain will linger over Acadiana this morning, but things are expecting to dry out this afternoon. There is no guarantee it'll be a dry afternoon, but it is certainly looking that way. The Houston area will continue to dry out and is heading towards a hot and humid afternoon. There's been some haze in the skies lately from the agriculture burns in Mexico, so hopefully we get a little of that cleared out this morning. It could be back later today and tomorrow though. Its not a huge deal, just makes the sky look a little hazy.
The thunderstorm lottery will continue tomorrow, but overall, rain chances are lower. Thunderstorm chances creep up a little Monday, and things get a little more interesting the rest of next week as a ridge of high pressure over the region now is replaced with a weak trough. This will lead to easier shower and thunderstorm development as it combines with the abundant moisture in place and daytime heating. We are launching right into a more summertime pattern!
