Update on Houston area Storms...

As expected, very strong storms are firing over north central TX early this afternoon. It does look like they will maintain a little more intensity as they form into a band and push into SE TX this evening. Impact timing for Downtown Houston is around 8-10pm, so it could be a nice light show for those at the Astros game, or a fun commute getting out of downtown after the game. South of Houston in the Pearland / Friendswood area, it'll be slightly later. Thunderstorms will be capable of frequent lightning, gusty winds and brief very heavy rain. There could be some locally stronger cells that could produce damaging wind gusts and hail as well.

Stronger activity will move out prior to midnight with a few lingering showers possible through the pre-dawn hours Saturday.
