Stubborn Ridge holds

That pesky ridge of high pressure remains in place and will keep temperatures very hot through early next week with very little chance of rain. One very good thing about the ridge is it is blocking any potential tropical development. We will see the ridge try to break down late next week and through next weekend which will lead to lower afternoon highs and the chance of a least a few showers and thunderstorms. However, the weakness in the ridge does lead to an avenue for any potential tropical systems to travel. Thankfully, there are no direct tropical threats on the horizon. It is something we'll have to watch closely last as we head later into August.
