Stormy start to the work week

An upper level disturbance providing some cooler air in the upper atmosphere along with some good afternoon heating should allow for a scattering of afternoon showers and thunderstorms today. Depending on how temperatures warm the rest of this morning, we should see thunderstorms start to pop around 1-2pm with a good 50-60% coverage from Cajun Country and SE TX through the afternoon. Brief very heavy downpours, lightning and a little gusty winds will accompany storms. There is a good chance the LSU game will get delayed at some point. Conditions will settle this evening, but some locations could see rain linger through 9-10pm.

Similar weather is on tap for tomorrow, but look for a gradual decrease in rain chances through the end of the week.
