Storms trending faster tonight...

High res short range models are getting a better handle on severe storms over NE Texas and it looks like things will evolve a little faster tonight. Could see storms through the Greater Houston area by around 1-2am and through Ville Platte / Church Point, LA around 3-4am. These high res models are certainly not perfect, but it does look like things are moving a little faster. The rest of the forecast remains pretty much on track as far as possible impacts. Although, rainfall will be lighter around Houston than southern LA (surprise...surprise). Wind gusts to 25-35 mph look likely for most areas with storms, with locally stronger gusts to 40-50 mph in locally stronger cells. Tornadoes not likely; although, its really hard to completely rule out.
