Still looking mostly dry...pretty hot

No big changes in the forecast today...mostly dry and pretty hot for late September through the weekend. There should be a bit more cloud cover at times starting tomorrow which could give some brief relief from the heat. As mentioned before, we will have to watch disturbances rolling out of the Ark-La-Tex region which could spark a few storms closer to Houston and Acadiana. Friday should see the greatest influence of any disturbances moving in from the north and will result in a 30-40% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
We'll have to watch a weak frontal boundary early next week as it could be a focus of a good chance of showers and thunderstorms. Its still uncertain where it will end up, but its looking like it will be close enough to put a dent in the heat and lead to higher rain chances starting Monday...maybe as early as late Sunday. Locally strong thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will likely become a threat. Depending on where the front ends up, it could be drier/cooler through mid week or showers and storms might linger.
Even as we hold onto this summer heat, I have to remind myself to appreciate the mostly settle weather as we are still in the heart of hurricane season. Yeah, we are in a drought, and its terrible for the farmers. The weather is harsh though...normal is rare. The fall rains will come and before you know it we will be dealing with winter flooding and nasty cold weather (at least nasty to me...lol). Again, I have to remind myself to thank God for this weather and ask him to help us when the storms return...and they will return.
