Still Hot and Dry...all eyes on the Gulf Disturbance

Very hot and and dry through Sunday...no changes there. I'm still watching the weak disturbance that will be sneaking below the strong ridge of high pressure and through the Gulf. Wind shear and sinking air associated with the ridge will likely keep the system very weak as it pushes through the central Gulf. However, it could have a window to strengthen into a depression or tropical storm as it moves through the western Gulf on Tuesday. Mid to lower Texas coast looks to be the landfall of whatever it becomes. No real wind impact should occur with it but it could bring some much needed rainfall to Texas.

Houston to Acadiana will likely be on the periphery of the moisture associated with this system so the amount of rainfall is still very much in question. Rain chances should start to increase a little on Monday, with the best rain chances occurring Tuesday and likely lingering on Wednesday. Houston stands a much better chance of rain due to proximity and I'm not too sure if Acadiana will get much of anything based on that strong ridge of high pressure. Even without any rain, clouds and a weaker ridge will lead to lower afternoon highs Tuesday through the middle of next week. Its looking more like the ridge will build back in late next week leading to a return of very hot and dry. We shall see though.
