Stagnate weather continues

The weather remains pretty boring with hot and dry conditions thanks a strong ridge of high pressure. The good news is today is likely the hottest day with temperatures slowly trending downward from Houston to Lafayette tomorrow through the weekend as the ridge slowly breaks down and shifts eastward.
Of course we are all keeping a close eye on rain chances. It'll be dry today through Thursday. I can't completely rule out some strong storms over northern LA and MS spreading south and impact Acadiana Friday evening, but that looks unlikely. Rain chances and cloud cover do start to increase over the weekend, but most places will likely miss out on rain. We really see the ridge break down next week and there should be the daily 30-40% chance of storms in the forecast with near normal afternoon temperatures. The timing and extent of rain will become clearer in the coming days.
