Scattered storms today...Drier tomorrow

A weak front sagging in from the northwest will interact with abundant moisture and the sea breeze front to allow for a pretty good scattering of thunderstorms across the I-10 corridor from Houston to Lafayette. Thunderstorms that pop up will be capable of some very heavy downpours and a quick inch or two is possible. But, in typical fashion, some areas will get none and others will get 2-3 inches.
Yesterday there was better coverage in showers and storms north of Houston, but today, it should be a bit more spread out and possibly focused a bit more south of I-10. In Acadiana, much of the thunderstorm activity remained east of I-49 for much of the afternoon, but eventually drifted westward late in the day. It should be a bit more evenly scattered today. For the most part, look for coastal counties/parishes to see activity develop first around 2-3pm with showers and storms spreading northward through the rest of the afternoon. Most of the showers and storms will dissipate by around 9-10pm.
A little drier air will move in tomorrow which will lead to much lower rain chances over SE TX. Farther east across Acadiana, rain chances will remain a little elevated tomorrow but will drop a bit more on Thursday. The drier air will not only lead to a downward trend in rain chances, but mornings and evenings will feel not quite as muggy through Friday. Thank God for that!
