Ridge building back...with a vengeance

The summer heat ridge will build over the central US through the rest of the week and this weekend which means more heat and low rain chances. The ridge will be much farther north than what it has been, but it keeps trending stronger and its effects will be expansive. Triple digit highs will return and low 100s will be common place starting in Houston today and over Acadiana tomorrow, which will continue through the weekend.
There will be a disturbance that will sneak through the Gulf beneath the ridge around Tuesday. This will likely lead to some good rain chances through the middle of next week. The exact strength and location of this system is still uncertain, but its looking like it'll mostly be a Texas and southwest Louisiana impact. The strong ridge will likely keep the system from developing into anything strong (strong tropical storm or hurricane), but we'll have to keep a close eye on it. Where it does spread inland, some spots could get some heavy rainfall but its still too early to get too deep into the details.
After mid week next week, some models suggest we get into a more daily sea breeze shower and thunderstorm pattern with near normal temperatures, and others suggest we are back with the ridge (hot and dry). I think we'll likely see hot and dry return, but not as bad as its been with at least the daily low risk of showers and thunderstorms.
