Rain chances uncertain

Thunderstorms from yesterday pushed some drier air into the area a little earlier than expected, and it could greatly limit shower and thunderstorm activity today. Baton Rouge and east, along with coastal counties of Texas and west, will have a good shot of storms. For areas in between, its very uncertain. The Houston area south of I-10 will see about a 40% chance of storms this afternoon. North of I-10, it'll be a bit less. Over Acadiana, models suggest 60-70%, but I'm very skeptical. I'm thinking closer to 40-50%. I guess we'll see. Regardless, afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 90s (upper 90s Houston, mid 90s Acadiana) and humidity will be a little lower.
Rain chances drop a bit on Tuesday and humidity starts to fall as well. Look for lower humidity through Thursday thanks to offshore flow. Afternoons will still be pretty hot, but mornings and evenings will be somewhat pleasant. Also, even though temperatures will be hot in the afternoons, it won't feel nearly as bad as its been.
Humidity will return to end out the work week and for the Labor Day weekend. There should be the daily risk of a few sea breezes showers and thunderstorms. Locations that don't get a shower or storm will see highs in the upper 90s.
