Nasty storms

As usually this time of year, dry spells end with a bang. I thought the strong storm risk would hold off until today, but storms got out of control just northwest of Houston and they steam rolled thru.

Houston area is stabilized a bit from overnight storms, so most of the activity will probably stay out if the area today. Certainly can't rule out thunderstorms, but chances are looking much lower than they did yesterday.

Farther east over Acadiana, scattered afternoon storms look much more likely. Briefly gusty winds, lightning and very heavy downpours will accompany thunderstorms.
