Moderate rain chances continue...trending hotter and drier

A good swath of showers and thunderstorms already moved through the Houston area this morning from the south. Looking at the rest of the day, most models don't show a whole lot of redevelopment this afternoon. If there is enough heating this afternoon and/or we get another outflow boundary to move off the Gulf, there could certainly be addition storms. However, most of the data is showing lack of strong afternoon heating an no additional activity moving out off the Gulf. I think there will be a few additional showers, but heavier rain might be done for today.

Farther east over Acadiana, its been pretty quiet. I do anticipate things to get going with a bit of heating and with the sea breeze front moving inland. Much like the last couple days, some places won't see much while others will get 1-2 inches of rain.

Scattered daytime showers and storms will again be in the forecast tomorrow, but as expected, rain chances will trend downward and temperatures will trend up through the weekend and into next week. Next week doesn't look as hot as last week and I still think each day there will at least be the risk of isolated showers and thunderstorms.
