Little surprise

A remnant disturbance from last night storms over central Texas has sparked some nasty storms near Conroe. These little disturbances (called MCVs) can sometimes be very hard to forecast and this one was not picked up on by most models. Isolated strong storms will continue to accompany this system as it tracks southeastward and most of the activity should track just east of I-45 through SE TX. Locally strong winds, frequent lightning, hail and brief heavy rain will accompany storms. There have been reports of an isolated tornado, but tornado activity should be brief and not a long lived threat.
