Lingering storms

Looks like showers and a few storms will hang around south of Houston through the next couple hours with a little lightning and briefly heavy rainfall at times. Thunderstorms won't be as heavy as they were last night...which wasn't too bad.

An area of rain over the Beaumont region will spread eastward through southern LA through the morning. Should be just steady rain with a few embedded lightning strikes. Rain should come to an end by midday or early afternoon.

The weekend forecast still looks the same with SE TX seeing some showers and a few storms Friday night into Saturday morning with some storms effecting southern LA through Saturday afternoon. The activity doesn't look to strong at this time as the region will be stabilized after today's activity. It'll probably just be showers...and mostly light.
