Hopefully you got lucky with some rain the last few days

A few showers and storms will pop up today, but the coverage won't be as widespread as yesterday. Dropping rain chances are a result of our good ole friend ridge of high pressure building in which will keep the downward trend in rain chances through the rest of the week. Rain chances won't get to 0%, but will be in the 10-20% range tomorrow through Saturday over the Houston area and 20-30% across Acadiana. Also, as you'd expect, temperatures will be rising with afternoon highs back near the century mark by Thursday. With some moisture on the ground and plenty of humidity, look for heat index values to climb up to 105-110F each afternoon today through Saturday.
The influence from the ridge will peak Saturday and it should then retreat Sunday and next week as a trough builds over the Southeast U.S. . This will start dropping temperatures and increasing rain chances. We could even see another very weak front sag towards the area late this weekend or next week.
No tropical systems are expected to threaten in then next 5-10 days...keeping marking the days off the calendar and hold on. We'll get through it.
