Heat peaking

Looks like this heat event will peak today over Acadiana and today, and tomorrow over Houston. Highs will be up near 100F with heat index values peaking near to a little above 110F. It'll still be hot the rest of the week, but clouds and a weakening ridge will lead to a lowering trend in highs.

A disturbance moving in from the north will bring a good chance of showers and storms over Acadiana tomorrow with a glancing blow over Houston leading to a much lower chance. Storms could become locally strong with gusty winds and hail. A couple models are actually showing a couple storms bubbling up today, but it'll be less than 10% coverage...if any.
