Getting hotter, but keeping an eye on storms

Temperatures are still expected to trend upwards the next few days with pretty seasonal heat today and a little above normal highs this weekend.

However, while we could see a few pop up showers and storms (coverage around 20-30%), today, things could become a little more interesting Thursday through Saturday. In general, rain chances will be low, but there is a chance that stronger storms developing out to the west and north could slide east-southeastward enough to impact the region. A little higher chances of impact will be over SE TX. If this occurs, thunderstorms could be pretty strong with very gusty winds, lightning and heavy downpours. With the small scale nature of these systems, the confidence in the location and timing is pretty low. But, if we do see the stronger storms, they'd likely hit in the late afternoon or during the evening.

Next week still looking hotter and mostly dry.
