Still looking at a few more sea breeze showers and storms today. Southwest Louisiana and the west/southwest side of Houston seemed to be the favored areas again today, so much of the I-49 corridor in LA and the southeastern side of Houston could again miss out. Its tough to tell though. In general, coverage will be around 20-30%. Those who get lucky, or unlucky depending on how you see it, and see a shower or thunderstorm can expect brief heavy rain, and maybe a few lightning strikes. Nothing too strong or longed lived is expected. Pretty typical stuff.
Rain chances decrease a little tomorrow and Friday, but can't completely rule out an isolated storm or two across the region. Lowering rain chances are mainly due to a low pressure system forming over the Gulf and pulling in a little drier air in and high pressure. It doesn't look like this system will officially be classified as a tropical depression, but it will meander around a bit then eventually slide east and effect Florida with some enhanced shower and thunderstorm activity.
It looks like moisture levels increase a bit over the weekend so look for the daily risk of showers and storms to pick back up. Locally heavy rain and brief very gusty winds could become a concern as there might be some elevated instability in place, especially by Sunday.
