Clouds helping

Today was likely going to be the hottest day for many locations around Houston, but morning cloud cover is certainly helping. It'll still be very hot this afternoon, but with temperatures slowed a bit with the clouds, it will help limit the peak this afternoon. Farther east over Acadiana, today's high will be close to yesterday's and there likely won't be the few showers and storms around like there was yesterday. In general for the whole region, afternoon temperatures will take a slight downturn the next few days, mostly as a result of increased winds. The high pressure ridge really isn't going anywhere.

The few storms that do manage to pop up should be quick and small but could produce gusty winds and brief heavy rain. Rain chances will remain low across SE TX and Acadiana through the week and into the weekend, but there are some glimmers of hope for higher rain chances and lower temperatures next week. We shall see...
