At least the days are getting shorter

If you are tired of the heat, at least the sunrise and sunset times are shrinking back which is a sign we are headed towards fall. Still though, very hot afternoons and less than 10% chance of rain will remain in the forecast this week. Today looks to be the hottest day in the forecast, but this weekend could rival it as the ridge builds back in after a slight weakening. The weather pattern tries to shift towards a weaker ridge and more moisture (rain) next week, but I'm not super confident based on the long range models performance and no good consensus in the data. It'll shift eventually, hopefully not with a hurricane.
