Acadian stormy...Houston staying mostly dry and hot

While I can' t rule out an isolated sea breeze shower or storm over the Greater Houston Area, most locations will stay hot and dry thanks to an upper level ridge of high pressure. We will have to keep a close eye on storms firing off to the northeast and east, but that activity will likely loose its steam as it tries to move in this evening/tonight.
Farther east over Acadiana, the ridge of high pressure will not have quite the stronghold and the sea breeze front will pop a few showers and thunderstorms early to mid afternoon as it moves off the coast. Also, thunderstorms firing to the north along a weak front could spread in late this afternoon and this evening. Isolated storms could become strong and capable of locally strong wind gusts, frequent lightning and very heavy downpours. Aside from the isolated stronger storms, most of the activity will be your normal run of the mill summer thunderstorms.
A little hotter temps and lower rain chances will settle in tomorrow and continue through this weekend. Rain chances won't be 0, so a few lucky spots could get some brief rain each day. Things could change next week depending on where the upper high pressure is centered and its strength. Currently, it looks like conditions will generally remain mostly hot and dry, but some higher Gulf moisture could sneak in and increase the risk of sea breeze showers and thunderstorms. I wouldn't get too excited yet though.
