A few storms today, better chances tomorrow and Thursday

Happy 4th of July! I'm so glad we live in a country that still has so many freedoms, especially the freedom to worship our Lord Jesus Christ without persecution.

The firework scene looks pretty good for most areas this evening. There will again be a few sea breeze showers and storms today (maybe a few more than yesterday), but most of the activity should dissipate between 5-7pm. There are already a few showers popping up over Acadiana. It'll take a little longer for things to get going in and around Houston. Gusty winds and heavy downpours will accompany storms...if you see one.

A slug of deeper moisture will move in off the western Gulf tomorrow, and a long with a weak front stalling north of the region, expect a good scattering of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow late morning/afternoon and again Thursday. The deeper more tropical moisture moving in will limit the risk of strong thunderstorms, but locally heavy rainfall will be possible. With the antecedent dry soils, flash flooding should not be a concern.
